Introduction

Our client is a corporately owned hospital seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a part-time basis for their out-of-hours (OOH) service. This is a great opportunity to work at an RCVS-accredited Tier 3 hospital in Hartford, Cheshire, providing high-quality emergency care in a supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota

The role involves working 9 night shifts within a 6-week period, as part of a rotating rota.

Role Description

The successful candidate will take care of inpatients and emergency cases referred from outlying practices. They will work sole charge during night shifts, supported by 2 qualified RVNs and an ACA on duty. Prior experience in a similar emergency setting is highly regarded.

Team Size

The team includes 4 OOH vets, supported by nurses and receptionists, led by Clinical Director Louise Parker.

Practice Details

The hospital is an RCVS accredited Tier 3 facility with state-of-the-art equipment, including digital imaging, X-ray, ultrasound, separate wards, and advanced surgical theatres with gaseous anaesthetic systems.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience in an OOH or emergency environment, strong clinical skills, and confidence in sole charge are essential. A passion for high-pressure emergency care is desired.
