You will conduct routine consultations, preventative care, and manage inpatients, post-operative care including orthopaedics and spinal cases, plus exotic and wildlife cases, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in small animal practice is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Handle routine consultations and preventative care.
• Manage complex inpatients (e.g. sepsis management, CRIs, chest drains).
• Provide postoperative care including orthopaedics and spinal cases.
• Care for exotic and varied cases, from companion animals to wildlife.

About the Practice This well-established veterinary practice, founded in the 1970s, has grown into a respected group of four independent surgeries across West Suffolk. Despite its growth, it has retained a friendly, community-focused approach while embracing modern veterinary advancements. The practice offers a diverse and stimulating caseload, combining first-opinion work with more complex medical and surgical cases. Veterinary Surgeons regularly manage:

• Routine consultations and preventative care
• Complex inpatients (e.g. sepsis management, CRIs, chest drains)
• Post-operative care including orthopaedics and spinal cases
• Exotic and varied cases, from companion animals to wildlife

The ideal Veterinary Surgeon Will:

• Have 1-2 years' experience in small animal practice
• Be confident with:
  • Routine consultations
  • Basic medical work-ups
  • Standard soft tissue surgery
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills

Up to £65,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience
