Job description
Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Nine Mile, Farnborough Veterinary Centre.

Farnborough Veterinary Centre is a small single vet practice which is twinned with a larger two‑vet practice at Ancells Farm in Fleet. Both branches are part of the Nine Mile Veterinary Group.

The role is for a full‑time permanent vet – 40 hours a week spread over four days with one Saturday morning shift per four weeks. Part‑time hours can also be considered if desired; the role may involve working across both branches where appropriate. The Farnborough clinic is primarily sole charge, but provisions exist to share charge with other vets.

Our team consists of 2 FTE vets, 2 RVNs, 3 SVNs and a part‑time receptionist. We are equipped with ultrasonography, radiography, in‑house blood machines, a surgical suite and a dental machine. You will be expected to work cases, develop client relationships and provide the highest standards of care. The ideal candidate is comfortable with sole charge, routine surgery, dentistry and diagnostics.

The practice is 100 % small‑animal work – mainly dogs and cats, with some rabbits and guinea pigs. There is no requirement for out‑of‑hours work. Salary is up to £65K per annum FTE, dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience post‑graduation, although a confident one‑year post‑grad will also be considered.

We are based in Farnborough and are commutable from Fleet, Farnham, Aldershot, Guildford, Woking, Hook, Basingstoke, Bramley, Camberley, Godalming, Bordon, Alton, Crowthorne, Reading and other locations in Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire.

Benefits
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (or equivalent) with a buy/sell holiday scheme allowing purchase of two additional weeks.
  • RCVS, VDS and subscription fees paid.
  • Generously encouraged and fully funded CPD – abundant internal and external development courses and programmes.
  • Extra days leave each year for the first five years at CVS.
  • Cycle‑to‑work scheme and subsidised gym membership.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Pension scheme – automatic enrolment, hassle‑free.
  • Access to first aid for mental health and wellbeing champions and 300 trained CVS colleagues in this role.
  • Colleague discount on pet products and treatments, including free consults, cost‑price drugs and a discount to our online pharmacy, Animed.
  • Access to the company share‑save scheme.
