Job summary

Grove (Fakenham) is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our small animal practice in Norfolk. The role offers full-time, permanent engagement with a flexible working week of 3 or 4 days and weekend commitments (up to 1 in 5 weekends).

You will manage a varied caseload and contribute to delivering outstanding veterinary care. We welcome an experienced vet (2–3 years) with confidence in clinical autonomy, and a passion for mentoring colleagues and ensuring excellent client service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a small animal veterinarian.
  • Experience handling primary care out-of-hours consultations, transfers, inpatient care, work-ups and surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead surgical and medical cases with clinical autonomy.
  • Guide the team and shape standards within a diverse caseload.
  • Provide high-quality care and maintain strong client relationships.

Location: Norfolk

Contract: Full time, permanent

Practice Type: First opinion

Weekend commitments: up to 1 in 5 weekends (Saturday and Sunday 7:30‑7:30)

Working weeks: 3 day or 4 day

Competitive Salary | up to £58,000 (DOE)

  • Keen to develop further clinical confidence to manage or lead a diverse caseload.

  • Experienced vet (2‑3 years) with clinical autonomy, comfortable with varied caseload, guiding the team, and shaping standards.
  • Strong medical knowledge and experience in routine and emergency surgery; good communication skills; passion for excellent care and client service.
Qualifications

This role requires a small animal veterinarian with a minimum of 2+ years of experience, handling primary care out‑of‑hours consultations, member practice case transfers, inpatient care, medical work‑ups, and surgery.
