Qualifications

Job description

We are hiring! We are currently looking for a Veterinary Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly team at Gordon Vets. This will be based across our 3 sites; Musselburgh, Bonnyrigg and Penicuik so a driving license will be needed for this role.

As the first point of contact, our receptionists play a vital role in ensuring that our clients and their pets have a welcoming and positive experience. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a warm and compassionate demeanour, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment. You’ll be joining a small, close-knit team that looks after one another, creating a supportive and friendly environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaising with the clients and the clinical staff to provide a high level of customer care.
  • Meeting and greeting clients and pets.
  • Booking appointments and diary management.
  • Managing telephone and email enquiries.Taking payment for services and products.
  • Managing cash and end-of-day banking.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe space for our clients and their pets.
About The Rota

This role is an average of 36 hours per week between Monday-Friday with 1 in 6 weekends at Musselburgh (Sat and Sun 08:45am-15:15pm with a day off given back in lieu).

Our team consists of 16 vets, 11 nurses and 11 reception/admin across 3 sites. We have a strong, experienced team who work well together.

Our ideal candidate

Previous experience in a vet practice is preferable, however we will consider applicants with client facing reception experience. You must be computer literate, able to work under pressure and able to work well within a team.
