We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist / Administrator at Ashfield Veterinary Group.

Location: To be based at our Halifax site, but may be required to cover our other sites (Wakefield and Wibley) for sickness and holiday cover

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: 30 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday between the hours of 08.30 - 18.30

About the role:

Day-to-day duties of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Sending out invoices / debt control
  • Cashing up and banking duties
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice
What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:
  • Previous Receptionist or customer-facing experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
