A leading veterinary care provider in Eastleigh is seeking a motivated Veterinary Nurse for weekend shifts. This role supports emergency care through direct clinical treatment including triage and diagnostics. The ideal candidate is RCVS registered and passionate about animal welfare. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide First Aid and advise over the phone.
  • Manage and monitor major body systems in Critical Care.
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures independently.

A weekend role with Vets Now allows you to further your ECC knowledge, whilst gaining a second income or balancing family commitments. You can work as little as two shifts per month; our current available hours are listed below.

Working hours:
  • Week 1: No shifts
  • Week 2: Saturday 18.00–00.00 or Sunday 09.00-18.00 and 18.00-00.00
  • Week 3: Saturday 12.00-19.30 or Sunday 09.00-18.00
  • Week 4: Sunday 09.00-18.00 and 18.00-00.00
Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in‑patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

  • First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
  • Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in‑patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
  • Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
Key requirements
  • RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
  • Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
