University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital is recruiting several Junior Assistant Clinicians (Interns) to deliver small animal veterinary clinical and care service under supervision of experienced staff.

These one-year fixed-term posts offer early clinical experience for EBVS approved residencies or masters programmes, with rotation through anaesthesia, emergency, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, neurology, soft tissue and orthopaedics, and primary care OOH service, while training and

Qualifications

• A1 Veterinary degree registerable with RCVS.
• A2 Knowledge of national veterinary regulations and practices.
• B1 Postgraduate academic achievement (desirable).
• C1 Deliver high standards of clinical care under supervision.
• C2 Effective written and spoken English communication.
• C3 Motivation for scholarship.
• C4 Ability to work in a team.
• C5 Ability to supervise student staff.
• C6 High professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-standard veterinary care for referred patients under supervision.
• Attend and participate in rounds, seminars and journal clubs.
• Assist in junior clinician rota organization.
• Contribute to clinical research projects and publications.
• Communicate with owners and referring practices.
• Use hospital records system consistently and accurately.
• Deliver supervised training to undergraduate students.
• Maintain CPD records and a case log.
