Job summary

inspiring vet care is seeking a Veterinary Care Assistant at Lockwood Animal Hospital on a full-time fixed-term basis for 12 months. You’ll support the clinical team, assist with patient handling and care, and help maintain a safe, caring environment for animals and their owners.

You’ll work under a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, with development opportunities including progression into a Student Veterinary Nurse role and structured learning programs.

Qualifications

• A caring, professional approach with a genuine interest in animal welfare.
• Good communication with colleagues and clients.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage tasks in a busy environment.
• Proactive attitude to learning and feedback.
• Experience of working with animals in clinical or non‑clinical settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the clinical team in delivering high standards of patient and client care.
• Assist with inpatient care, patient handling and restraint as needed.
• Help maintain clinical areas and equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.
