Medivet Southend 24 hour is seeking an experienced Veterinary Care Assistant on a fixed-term basis for 3 months. Hours are Monday to Friday, with on-call duties and 1 in 4 weekends; participate in an on-call service for a maximum of one week if needed.

You will support the nurses and vets with in-patient procedures and routine pet care, delivering exceptional care to clients, patients and colleagues while maintaining high welfare standards.

Qualifications

• Previous role in veterinary setting preferrable.
• Able to work as part of a small team and deliver exceptional care.
• Able to build relationships with clients - remaining calm under pressure and diplomatic when required.
• Able to prioritise workload and a range of tasks.
• Flexible and willing to learn.
• Understands the role and importance of regulation and compliance.

Responsabilités

• Deliver exceptional care to clients, each and every day.
• Support the vet with any operations or procedures when required.
• Responsible for patient monitoring and care.
• Ensure all pre or post operation activity is completed.
• Provide everyday care for patients by carrying out appropriate walking, toileting and feeding.
• Complete any patient transfers required.
• Dispense any medication required (under the guidance of the Vet/Lead Vet).
• All patient care is carried out under the guidance of the Vet/Lead Vet in line with clinical competence.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and practice standards and agreed ways of working.
• Send off lab tests.
• Prepare theatre for procedures.
• Responsible for cleaning and laundry in the clinic.

Medivet Southend 24 hour have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Care Assistant on a fixed term basis of 3 months. Hours are Monday to Friday working between the hours of &am and 8:30 pm, 1 in 4 weekends and participation in an on call service maximum 1 week if needed.As a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) you will support the nurse and vets with in-patient procedures and pet care delivering exceptional care always there to our clients, patients, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Client care

• Deliver exceptional care to clients, each and every day.

Patient care
