Job summary

Hay Vets on the edge of the Brecon Beacons is seeking a Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly practice on a part-time basis.

You’ll support the clinical team with patient care, assist with handling and restraint, prepare rooms, and help maintain hygiene and stock while delivering excellent front-of-house service to clients and their pets. Average 30 hours weekly, 8:30am–7:00pm, 1 in 2 Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • You’ll need to be a team player with a caring, professional approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues and clients.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks in a busy environment.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a veterinary setting.
  • Experience of working with animals in clinical or non-clinical settings is advantageous.

  • Cleaning and maintaining clinical areas to high hygiene standards

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

Average 30 hours per week between the hours of 8:30am and 7:00pm, with 1 in 2 Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 1:00pm.
