Job summary

inspiring vet care in Leicester seeks a Veterinary Care Assistant for Bell, Brown and Bentley. The role is 37.5 hours per week on a rota from 8am–7pm, with 1–3 Saturdays in 10 weeks.

No out-of-hours work is required, and the team supports patient and client care to high standards. You will work under a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, assisting with inpatient care, patient handling, and maintaining a safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience caring for animals or working in a veterinary setting is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
  • A proactive attitude to learning and development within a veterinary environment.

  • Restrain animals as needed under supervision.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

The role will be 37.5 hours per week working on a rota basis with shifts spanning our opening times of 8am till 7pm – no out of hours work is required although there would be 1–3 Saturdays in 10 weeks working 8am to 1pm.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include animal restraint, cleaning, sterilisation of veterinary instruments, Inpatient care and reception duties.
