Job summary

ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists, part of CVS Group, seeks an RCVS Specialist, Diplomate (ECVAA/ ACVAA) or residency-trained clinician for a fixed-term maternity cover in the Anaesthesia team. Ideally, work Monday, Thursday and Friday; out-of-hours at weekends and one night a week; start January 2027.

You will work closely with experienced colleagues and Specialists across internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery

Qualifications

• Residency-trained or Diplomate status in Anaesthesia (ECVAA/ ACVAA)
• RCVS registration (MRCVS)
• Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent English-language communication skills

Responsibilities

• Work within the Anaesthesia team with access to state-of-the-art equipment
• Collaborate with residency-trained colleagues and Specialists across multiple specialties
• Support teaching and training, including rotating interns as part of an educational partnership with the University of Surrey

About The Role

The successful candidate would be working closely with other experienced colleagues, residency-trained clinicians or Specialists in internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics. You will have access to all the expected state-of-the-art equipment, and be supported by a truly brilliant team of anaesthetists together with a highly qualified and experienced nursing team

You will have an interesting and varied caseload and will benefit from the support of experienced colleagues both within ChesterGates and throughout the wider CVS Group. We are also an educational partner with the University of Surrey and have a team of rotating interns to satisfy those who enjoy teaching.

• Be residency-trained or hold Diplomate status in Anaesthesia (ECVAA/ ACVAA)
• Have current RCVS registration (MRCVS)
