Job summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking a Buyer to support procurement for its vessel operations from the Westhill facility in Aberdeenshire. The role involves sourcing goods and services, coordinating with requestors, departments, and suppliers across a global environment.

The ideal candidate has practical buying experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy setting. Hybrid pattern with four days in the office and Friday optional homeworking.

Qualifications

• Experience in buying or procurement activities, cross-functional coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with ERP/purchasing systems, especially Oracle, is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing and purchasing for vessels, seeking cost-effective solutions.
• Review requisitions, specs and RFQs for completeness and governance.
• Keep requestors informed about requisition progress and issues.
• Use approved suppliers and consolidate orders to reduce transactions.
• Review and negotiate supplier quotations for best commercial outcomes.
• Progress open requisitions and manage workload to meet deadlines.
• Resolve purchasing and delivery queries, including invoice discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Project Management, Logistics, and Finance teams.
• Adhere to quality, health, safety, environmental and security requirements.
