Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Vending Machine Operative to join our on-site team at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in Derby. You’ll be responsible for refilling, maintaining and monitoring 30 vending machines across 11 buildings, ensuring a clean and professional service throughout the day.

This hands-on role requires strong time management, the ability to work lone, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence (essential).
• Must be aged 25 or over due to site vehicle insurance.
• Previous vending, retail, or similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional, approachable manner.
• Ability to work alone for extended periods and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Refill and maintain 30 vending machines across the site.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure machines are well presented and operational.
• Ensure product availability and proper stock rotation to support sales.
• Drive a company vehicle to transport products safely around site.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene around vending areas.
• Respond promptly to machine issues and escalate as needed.
• Provide a professional service when interacting with site staff.
• Work independently while communicating with the wider team.

Vending Machine Operative

to join our team at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in Derby.

You’ll play an important role in keeping our extensive on-site vending operation running smoothly, helping to ensure colleagues have access to a clean, well-stocked and professional service throughout the day.

Working as part of a team of

three Vending Operatives and a Vending Manager, you'll help look after a minimum of

110 vending machines across 11 buildings, including sandwich, drinks and ambient snack machines.

This is a hands‑on role where attention to detail, good organisation and a strong customer service approach are essential. Working as part of a team of four, supported by an on‑site manager, this is a hands‑on role that involves regular movement across site, including walking long distances and using stairs. The role will involve

lone working for the majority of the shift, so confidence in managing your own workload and working independently is essential.

What you’ll bring
