Job summary

Switch Car Rental is expanding its team in Glasgow and recruiting for a Vehicle Valeter (Quality Inspector). The role focuses on thorough cleaning, meticulous inspection, and ensuring vehicles meet high rental standards.

You will work under zero-hour arrangements in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to contribute to fleet presentation and safety compliance. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, can work independently or in a team, and holds a valid driving

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail to ensure vehicles are cleaned, inspected and presented professionally.
• Hardworking with ability to work in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to show great attention to detail throughout duties.
• Experience in the service industry is desirable.
• Good communication skills and a full valid driving licence for 12+ months with ≤9 points on DVLA check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all vehicles are cleaned and prepared for rental to company standards.
• Inspect pre- and post-rental vehicles and report issues to Branch Manager.
• Complete fuel sheets accurately and record readings.
• Keep work areas tidy and organized, including bays and store rooms.
• Assist with preparation of sales vehicles, including minor damage polishing and livery removal.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and prepared for rental according to company standards
• Conduct thorough inspections for pre and post-rental damage, reporting any issues to the Branch Manager
• Perform debowse tasks in line with safety guidelines
• Complete fuel sheets accurately, recording all necessary readings
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including wet and dry bays and store rooms
• Assist with the preparation of sales vehicles, including livery removal and minor damage polishing
• Ensure the security of the compound and vehicles
• Conduct daily checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality
• Record all vehicle damage accurately and report it to the office for further investigation
• Manage the yard to ensure vehicles are organised neatly and in accordance with security guidelines
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety regulations
• Ensure the security of the compound and vehicles at all times
• Assist with vehicle delivery and collection as required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring vehicles are cleaned, inspected, and presented to a professional standard.
• Hardworking individual with the ability to work in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to show great attention to detail
• Ideally, you will have worked in the service industry
• Good communication skills
• Hold a full-valid driving licence for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than 9 points on your DVLA check.
