Job summary

Lookers Audi Teesside are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their workshop. You will carry out vehicle health checks using the latest technology, perform services and undertake repairs to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate holds a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) and a full UK driving licence, with motor industry experience. The role offers career progression and manufacturer accredited training including EV courses.

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Motor industry experience (brand or non-brand).
• Full and valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
• Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
• Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
• Warranty repairs are per the manufacturer’s guidelines and relevant write up is complete
• Taking the customers vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
• Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard

Teesside Audi

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: OTE up to £42,445 (Uncapped); £34,000 basic plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus and uncapped Time Saved Bonus Scheme (dependent on level)

Flexible hours available: 40 hours Monday–Friday (08:30–17:00), plus 1 in 3 Saturdays (08:30–12:30) OR choose a fixed 4‑day working week (Mon–Thu / Tue–Fri, 42 hours)

We offer a transparent, structured pay model with strong earning potential:

PDI Technician – £36,655 realistic annual earnings (based on £28,000 basic)

Vehicle Technician – £39,730 realistic annual earnings (based on £31,000 basic)

Brand‑Qualified Technician – £42,445 realistic annual earnings (based on £34,000 basic + HVE)

Senior / Diagnostic Technician – £45,885 realistic annual earnings (based on £38,000 basic + HVE)

Master Technician – £51,156 realistic annual earnings (based on £43,000 basic + HVE)

All earnings include basic salary, productivity bonus, Saturday overtime, plus an additional £2,000 HVE qualification payment for qualified levels

While working alongside other experienced technicians, you will play a vital role, carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology, conducting vehicle services and carrying out any additional repairs.

The ideal candidate will have minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, motor industry experience (brand or non‑brand), and a full and valid UK driving licence. You’ll be self-motivated whilst being able to support your team, ambitious and eager to learn, and are able to work to and maintain the highest of standards to all vehicles that take a spin through our doors.

Although previous brand experience is desirable, it is not essential, as brand accreditation training will be provided. Diagnostic, MOT and EV experience is also desirable but not essential.
