A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Joint Engineering Transport Services (JETS) team as a Vehicle Technician, predominantly working on light vehicles. Based in our Stoke-on‑Trent, Trentham workshop, you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to making the County of Staffordshire safer whilst working with a wider team at JETS. You may also be called to any of our sites for both Staffordshire Police & Fire to carry out inspection, repair, and maintenance of the Fleet of vehicles under JETS remit.
The post holder will have experience in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles, including cars and light commercial vehicles. Working in a modern, clean and safe workshop environment with great road networking links, you will have access to the latest equipment to maintain and service the mixed fleet of varied manufacture models and vehicle types (ICE, Hybrid & EV). Where required, you will have the opportunity to keep up to date and further upskill your knowledge and skill sets as we invest in our staff, providing bespoke in‑house and external training to be able to service and maintain the fleet appropriately, utilising specialist manufacturer courses and in addition providing personal development training via accredited bodies.
The post holder will be required to support and be part of the year‑round on‑call rota, currently covering a rota‑based process, bringing additional ‘on call’ payments for the post holder, in addition to the post holder’s annual salary.
Ideally, but not essential, the post holder shall be fully qualified to carry out MOT testing to DVSA standards.
