Job summary

A leading automotive service company in Wincanton is seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Technician. This position offers a supportive environment with opportunities for training and development. Responsibilities include diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs across various vehicle systems. Ideal candidates will have an NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, a positive attitude, and their own tools. Competitive hourly pay of £15.00 – £16.00 based on experience is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair with practical experience.
• Experience in a Main Dealer environment preferred but not essential.
• MOT Tester status is a bonus.

Light Vehicle Technician

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs across a range of systems (engine, brakes, suspension, electrics etc.)
• Servicing and maintenance to manufacturer standards
• Road testing vehicles, including customer demos where needed
• Carrying out vehicle health checks
• CPD – We’ll help you with training & development to allow your career to flourish!

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair with practical experience
• Experience in a Main Dealer environment (preferred but not essential)
• EV / Hybrid training a bonus (we’ll support you if not!)
• MOT Tester status? Even better! (and you’ll earn more!)
• Someone who’s positive, honest, takes pride in their work and wants to grow with us
• Full UK driving licence (with less than 6 points)
• Your own tools and a can‑do attitude

Pay Guide (depending on experience)

• £15.00 – £16.00 per hour

Working Pattern

• Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
• Saturday overtime available between: 8:30am – 12:30pm
