Qualifications

  • Experience in maintaining and repairing vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
  • Knowledge of vehicle inspection standards.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out service, diagnosis and repair of vehicles to high standards.

  • Provide technical opinions to customers when required.

Vehicle Technician

Salary: £30K - £48.8k OTE (dependent on experience)

Working hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 42.5 hours. Every one in three Saturdays paid as overtime

Location: Guildford

Start Date: ASAP

Job Purpose:
To maintain, inspect, repair and test customers' vehicles to the prescribed standards in accordance with the Department for Transport, manufacturer and Operator licence Criteria.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Carrying out service, diagnosis and repair of vehicles to excellent standards
  • Communicating with the Service Reception team and Workshop Control
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and orderly administration of your work
  • Maintaining thorough and up to date product knowledge
  • Replacing components
  • Speaking with customers on occasion to provide your expert, technical opinion
  • Using specialist equipment such as electrical and electronic diagnostics
  • Engine tuning equipment to measure performance
  • Rectifying faults on customer's vehicles in a busy workshop
  • Maintaining exceptionally high customer service levels that lead to customer loyalty and referrals
