Vehicle Technician in GL5 to start ASAP

We are Auto Bodytech, an award-winning accident repair and vehicle maintenance centre based near Stroud (GL5). Since 1987, we’ve built our reputation as trusted independent specialists, combining cutting-edge diagnostic tools with a small, dedicated team who care about quality and customer service. Accredited to BS 10125, Aries and approved by the RAC, we handle everything from diagnostics to body repairs with precision and pride. We are also approved by major insurers, giving customers confidence that their vehicles are in safe hands.

We're now looking for a Vehicle Technician to join our growing team and help us continue delivering the highest standards of workmanship and customer care. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

Job Title: Vehicle Technician

Pay: £17.00-£20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Location: GL5 5EY

Hours: 8:00-17:00 Mon-Thurs, 8:00-13:00 Fri

What we’re looking for:
  • Proven mechanical knowledge with at least 2 years’ experience in vehicle repair & maintenance (essential)
  • NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification (essential)
  • Right to work in the UK (essential)
  • Full clean driving licence (essential)
  • C1 (desirable but not essential)
  • F‑gas accreditation (desirable but not essential)
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Confident using diagnostic software
  • Familiarity with schematics for diagnosing vehicle issues
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a team
  • Capability to safely perform heavy lifting when required
What you’ll be doing:
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using technical manuals and schematics
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs (engine, transmission, brakes, electrics)
  • Use hand and power tools for vehicle assembly/disassembly
  • Carry out welding and equipment repairs when required
  • Perform vehicle diagnostics including ADAS and geometry
  • Carry out pre-MOT repairs to VOSA MOT standards
  • Complete mechanical repairs on Ambulance Trust vehicles
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Handle heavy lifting tasks during repairs and maintenance
  • Work effectively as part of a team to deliver high standards of care and satisfaction
