Vehicle Technician – Abingdon

Starting salary negotiable pending experience/skill-set. Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Rare chance to work with iconic classic British sports cars, helping adapt them to the 21st century. Our client, a leading performance automotive company specialising in restoring and rebuilding classic British sports cars, is currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Technician to join their team at their head office in Abingdon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit components using hand tools and power tools to create finished products.
  • Understand and diagnose running issues.
  • Create and run wiring in basic circuits throughout vehicles.
  • Assemble, diagnose and reassemble engines and gearboxes.
  • Perform mechanical procedures, including servicing and general maintenance.
  • Have a good understanding of mechanical engineering.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and work towards solutions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, ideally similar classic sports cars, with the ability to learn, diagnose and rectify faults/faulty components, plus the ability to reassemble vehicles and build engines and gearboxes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Solutions-focused with a passion for the work.
  • UK driving licence with minimal points.
  • Good team player, committed individual.
  • Experience in welding/fabrication or general vehicle body repair is highly beneficial but non-essential.
