Job summary

Chapelhouse Motor Group in Southport is seeking an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician for our Aftersales team. Time served experience and a Level 3 qualification are preferred.

Responsibilities

Location: Southport Salary: Up to £40K OTE, depending on experience Closing date: Monday 30 November 2026

Salary:Up to £40,00.00 per annum dependent upon experience

We're looking to add to our Aftersales team in the shape of an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician who is passionate and dedicated to their craft. Time served experience is essential plus the relevant qualifications, preferably Level 3. Dealer experience is advantageous but not essential for this role. Do you fit the bill? Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Protect customers' vehicles with covers and dustsheets.
• Safeguard the customers' vehicle and contents whilst being repaired/serviced.
• Ensure vehicles are thoroughly examined and report orally/in writing on general condition of vehicles with emphasis on customer safety.
• Carry out all work to MOT and / or manufacturers' safety standards.
• Maximum use of technical knowledge and skills to achieve effective, economic and safe service/repair of customers' vehicles.
• Ensure that all hours and material usage are accurately recorded.
• Take care not to cause accidental damage to vehicle and components during service or repair.
• Minimise wastage of all materials, oils and fluids.
• Care for all plant and tools belonging to dealership and not to misuse same.
• Test vehicles and diagnose as and when required by Service Manager.
• Observe, recognise and report on vehicle and component serviceability.
• Interpret and implement technical service instruction data.
• Indent for replacement parts and record usage.
• Recover damaged or defective vehicles as and when necessary.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy.
• Ensure vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customer or that faults have been reported and noted on job card.
• Undertake manufacturer training courses.

Experience & Qualifications Required

• Must be able to help and assist your team with complex diagnostics.
• Ensure customer satisfaction in the service and repair of motor vehicles of all types.
• Carry out such servicing and repairs in a safe and economical manner.
• Employ such knowledge and skills as may be required to test vehicles and diagnose faults.
• Maintain a valid driving licence to operate vehicles for the purpose of diagnostics.
• Full Driving Licence with no more than 6 points required.
• Experience in the servicing and repair of motor vehicles.
• Must have possession of own tools.
