Job summary

HiQ Tyres & Autocare in Ipswich is seeking a Vehicle Technician for a full-time permanent role, Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:30pm with a half-day Saturday finish; salary depends on experience. You will inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA standards, use dealer-level diagnostic equipment, and discuss repairs with customers to ensure high-quality service.

The ideal candidate will have Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time served), a full licence (max 9 points), and at least 4

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience delivering interim, full and major services plus relevant repair work (brakes, suspension, steering, air con).
• 4+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to ensure road-worthiness and DVSA standards.
• Use dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment to assist in time-efficient repairs.
• Perform repairs and maintenance per manufacturer standards and schedules.
• Discuss required repairs with customers.
• Calculate expected time and cost of vehicle work.
• Maintain health and safety standards and complete paperwork to a high standard.
• Undertake additional duties for store efficiency and assist in stock checks.

Job description

HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our team. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm – half a day finish on a Saturday,salary depending on experience.

We are looking for an experience vehicle technician who would want to progress to an MOT tester technician.

What you will be doing as a Vehicle Technician:

• Inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles to ensure road worthiness and reliability to DVSA standards.

• Use of dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment to assist in time-efficient repairs.

• Perform repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards and schedules.

• Discussing required repairs with customer

• Calculating the expected time and cost of vehicle work

• Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices.

• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard

• To undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store.

• To carry out administration duties as required within the store.

• Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy.

What you will need:

• Must have a Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience

• Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points

• Experience of delivering interim, full and major services plus relevant repair and replacement work (brakes, suspension and steering component replacement, air con service etc)

• 4+ years experience.
