Qualifications

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
  • Previous experience in a dealership or independent workshop environment.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Automotive Vehicle Technician/Vehicle Mechanic within a main dealer service centre in Birmingham. Our Automotive Client has a need for a Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Mechanic who is motivated and able to work to their own initiative.

Duties
  • Carrying out vehicle diagnostics using the latest manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment
  • Performing mechanical and electrical repairs to a high standard
  • Supporting and mentoring junior technicians and apprentices
  • Liaising with the technical support team and service advisors when required
  • Conducting road tests to confirm repair quality and customer satisfaction
  • Carrying out routine vehicle servicing and health checks efficiently and accurately
  • Advising on additional repair work and providing technical feedback when needed
Requirements
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Previous experience in a dealership or independent workshop environment
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently or within a team
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • MOT testing accreditation, EV training or manufacturer experience are highly desirable, but not essential

The salary of this role is up to £43,000 basic with OTE of £52,500. Hours of work are a Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
