Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) for Ford Farnborough to perform maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards. You will inspect components, provide technical advice, and support a busy workshop while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification.
• Experienced Level 2 qualified technicians with a dealership background encouraged to apply.
• Thorough understanding of vehicle safety standards and guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to meet efficiency targets while maintaining quality.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence; MOT licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components for wear or damage.
• Provide expert technical advice to customers when necessary.
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards to foster trust.

What you’ll do day to day

• Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs, following manufacturer standards and guidelines to ensure reliability and safety
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components to assess wear, damage, or required replacements
• Provide expert technical advice to customers when necessary, ensuring clear and professional communication
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards, fostering trust that leads to repeat business and referrals
• Collaborate effectively with the service reception team and workshop control for seamless workflow and customer satisfaction
• Offer support and guidance to fellow Technicians in the workshop, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing
