Overview

Vehicle Technician – Hybrid Workshop & Mobile Role

Location: Derby

Salary: £31,000 - £35,000 basic (depending on qualifications and experience)

Sign-On Bonus: £1,500

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am – 4pm (flexible as long as 42 hours are fulfilled) – no weekend work or bank holidays!

We’re looking for a Vehicle Technician to join our client in Derby in a hybrid workshop/mobile role, working primarily on Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) with the exciting opportunity to train on HGVs. From day one, you’ll have a clear roadmap to progress to Master Technician, gaining skills and qualifications along the way.

Key responsibilities for the Vehicle Technician

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain LCVs (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical systems)
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues
• Keep accurate records of work and parts used
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and recommendations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques

Requirements

• Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification
• Confident in diagnostic work
• Full UK driving license
