Job summary

NP Aerospace is seeking 10 Vehicle Technicians to join its Coventry team on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract with potential extensions. You will assemble and test military vehicle systems, ensuring safety and quality to high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Role requires City & Guilds Level 3, experience in mechanical fitting, and the ability to read engineering drawings. AI tools experience is encouraged; generous benefits and a pension are included.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the assembly and integration of mechanical and electrical systems on low-volume, high-specification defence vehicles. Working as part of a collaborative production team, you’ll help ensure every vehicle meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Your work will include assembling and fitting sub‑systems to precise tolerances while following technical drawings, work instructions, and defined quality standards. You’ll use specialist tools, equipment, and approved materials safely and correctly, inspecting components and completed assemblies to ensure accuracy.

You’ll collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and R&D teams, contributing to lean manufacturing initiatives and identifying opportunities for process improvement. Above all, you’ll work safely, consistently, and with pride in your craft.

Our team embraces modern technologies, including AI‑assisted tools, to work smarter and deliver better results. Candidates should either have experience using AI tools or demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply them in their role.

What you’ll bring

• City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Automotive, Mechanical, or Vehicle Systems

• Confidence interpreting engineering drawings and working from schematics
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, quality‑focused manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, team‑oriented mindset
• A solid work ethic and commitment to high standards
• Experience of using AI tools or demonstrates a willingness to learn and apply AI in role.

Bonus if you have

• Experience with military, specialist, HGV or off‑highway vehicles
• Exposure to electrical integration or sub‑system installation
• Experience using (or willingness to learn) AI tools in your work
