Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Vehicle Systems Development Engineer to join its R&D team in a highly hands-on role at the intersection of vehicle electronics, CAN/network analysis, embedded systems, hardware development and product innovation.

You will own projects from signal discovery through to design, integration and validation of working solutions across multiple vehicle platforms, with UK travel and occasional international opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience with CAN/CAN FD, LIN, and automotive networks.
Knowledge of vehicle signal decoding and DBC files.
Experience turning signals into product requirements.
Hands-on hardware and software integration experience.
Ability to work across vehicle platforms.
Strong problem solving and investigative mindset.

Responsibilities

Signal Discovery & Reverse Engineering: Capture and analyse CAN/CAN FD traffic and other vehicle communications; decode signals and understand ECU interactions; build signal maps and DBCs.
Solution Architecture & Product Development: Translate discoveries into requirements; define system architectures; prototype new functionality; contribute to R&D roadmaps.
Hardware, Software Integration & Validation: Configure embedded controllers; design prototype hardware and harnessing; install in development vehicles; test across manufacturers and platforms.
