A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a Vehicle Safety Auditor for a 24-month contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading audits, observing testing results, and ensuring compliance with automotive safety standards. This hybrid role allows for 3 days onsite work. The role involves collaboration with engineering teams and regulatory bodies to ensure vehicles meet the highest safety standards. The organisation operates across a global footprint and prioritises continuous improvement in vehicle safety systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead audits of manufacturer safety management systems to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Observe vehicle testing and document results to support safety evaluations
  • Assess compliance from management system audits and vehicle assessments
  • Work closely with management to deliver type approval activities efficiently
  • Supervise engineers involved in type approval to maintain high standards
  • Maintain consistency by adhering to established internal guidelines and standards
  • Collaborate with technical leads to support policy interpretation and technical development
  • Engage in professional development to remain current with safety standards, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes
  • Mentor and guide colleagues in system safety to enhance team knowledge and skills
Experience
  • Auditing experience against automotive safety standards and management systems such as ISO 26262 or ISO 21448
  • Experience in product development for safety-critical systems, including braking, steering, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, or Automated Driving Systems
  • The ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
