Job summary

MotoMine, the UK’s largest motorcycle salvage company and part of the 4th Dimension Innovation Group, seeks a Vehicle Preparation Team Leader to run the Vehicle Preparation Team at Unit 6, Thorpe.

This hands-on role leads from the workshop floor, sets daily plans, and ensures bikes are prepared to listing standard. You’ll manage two direct reports, plan the queue, and oversee imaging and listing processes with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a small team in a workshop, vehicle preparation, warehouse or similar hands-on setting.
• Sound practical knowledge of motorcycles, including assessing running condition and basic servicing.
• High standards of presentation and close attention to detail.
• Well organized with ability to plan a daily workload and keep work moving.
• Confident giving instructions and feedback, and holding the team to standards.
• Comfortable recording data and using basic IT, including photo/video capture.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Set written daily task lists and priorities at the start of each shift and review completion.
• Manage attendance, timekeeping, breaks and holiday requests; escalate issues per policy.
• Set standards for work rate, quality and housekeeping; provide feedback and training.
• Contribute to rota planning for peak arrival periods and holiday cover.
• Plan the preparation queue to meet five-day target from arrival to live listing.
• Ensure each bike has engine status, running history, and video captured.
• Oversee imaging area and ensure bikes are imaged to the agreed sequence; support RideNation imaging.
• Keep daily tracking sheets up to date and report throughput and blockages.
• Co-ordinate with Stock Control; support collections and visiting engineers.
• Ensure SOPs, risk assessments and PPE are followed; manage tools and equipment.
