Job summary

Babcock seeks a highly capable Vehicle Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles supporting the armed forces and emergency services. You will work at our Bovington, Ashchurch, Warminster or Lulworth sites, contributing to national defence with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The role is full-time and permanent, based at one of several sites, with 37 hours per week and potential overtime. Eligibility for BPSS/SC clearance is required, and relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance.
• Preferred: Experience with military vehicles or specialist equipment.
• Background in a dealership, garage, or military vehicle maintenance.
• Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, inspection, and repair.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles supporting our armed forces and emergency services.
• Work 37 hours per week with potential overtime; set working times.
• Pass targeted medical questionnaire or medical examination as a condition of employment.
• Obtain BPSS and SC security clearance if required.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at Ashchurch, Bovington, Warminster or Lulworth. You’ll work 37 hours per week: Monday–Thursday (8 hours/day) and Friday (5 hours), with opportunities for overtime. Set working times are in place. What do I need?

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance
• Preferred: Experience with military vehicles or specialist equipment
• Background in a dealership, garage, or military vehicle maintenance
• Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, inspection, and repair
• Strong commitment to safety and precision
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development
• Ability to conduct road tests and complete technical documentation
• Ability to obtain BPSS and SC security clearance
