The role

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be a key player in maintaining and repairing the vehicles that support our armed forces. From diagnostics to inspections, your expertise will help ensure our fleet is ready for any mission. Day-to-day you’ll be :

• Diagnosing faults and conducting inspections to meet production requirements
• Servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of vehicles and electrical equipment
• Completing documentation and test certificates to current standards
• Using issued stores and equipment correctly and returning unused or faulty items
• Supporting a team-focused environment and adapting to changing needs

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and / or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This is a full-time, permanent role based onsite at Tidworth. The set working times are Monday to Thursday, 07 : 00 – 16 : 45, totalling 37 hours per week. Enjoy a 4-day working week and excellent work-life balance.

Essential experience of the Vehicle Mechanic :

• Previous experience in a similar mechanical role
• Experience in a dealership or local garage
• Ability to adapt and build rapport across teams
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Qualifications for the Vehicle Mechanic :

• NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair or equivalent mechanical qualification
• Preferred : Ex-REME Class 1 Vehicle Mechanic with current competencies (not essential)
