Job summary

FedEx at Stansted is recruiting for a maintenance technician to launch and execute monthly preventative maintenance on GSE, material handling equipment and HGV vehicles. You will log all maintenance, order parts, and ensure regulatory inspections are completed while maintaining safe workshop standards.

The role requires reading technical diagrams, strong mechanical/hydraulic/electrical knowledge, autonomous working style, and excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Launch and execute monthly preventative maintenance repair/work orders per global maintenance system planning for GSE and material handling equipment and HGV vehicles.
  • Create curative repair/work orders for maintenance and execute work on GSE and material handling equipment.
  • Launch regulatory inspections as required for GSE and workshop equipment.
  • Log maintenance carried out on each asset and maintain system and physical records.
  • Order works to vendors when applicable and verify execution.
  • Collect and sign worksheets from vendors and encode in the global maintenance system.
  • Request spare parts when necessary.
  • Keep workshop safe and clean following 5S methodology.
  • Troubleshoot GSE equipment when failures disturb operations and replace faulty equipment.
  • Deliver and assemble new assets and update the global maintenance system.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Report defects for analysis and improvement.
  • Maintain good collaboration with internal customers and communicate solutions.

Working hours: 40 per week


Shift: To be advised


Salary: Base pay £24.93 per hour. Premia paid for hours worked between 7pm - 10pm (£2.68 per hour), and 10pm - 6am (£3.24 per hour).


Location: Stansted


What you will be doing:


  • Launch and execute monthly preventative maintenance repair/work orders as per global maintenance system planning for GSE and material handling equipment and HGV Vehicles.

  • Create curative repair/work orders for curative maintenance and execute work for GSE and material handling equipment

  • Launch regulatory inspections as per legal requirements whatever on GSE and material handling equipment as well as on workshop equipment

  • Logging maintenance carried out on each asset and maintaining both system and physical records.

  • Order works to vendors when applicable and check proper execution

  • Collect and sign worksheets from vendors and encode accordingly in global maintenance system

  • Request spare parts when necessary

  • Ensure to keep workshop in good and safe condition and work safely at all times, following 5S methodology

  • Troubleshoot GSE equipment when failure disturbs operations, ensure to remove faulty equipment

  • Ensure delivery and assembly of new assets and update global maintenance system accordingly

  • Identify cost saving opportunities

  • Report identified defects for analysis and further equipment improvement

  • Keep a great collaboration with internal customers and communicate in a solution oriented manner
