Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist vehicle manufacturer for a Mechanical Fitter based at Trafford Park. The role offers a competitive £35,500 per annum, a 44-hour week, and flexible hours with an early finish on Fridays.

You will read drawings, assemble and fit vehicle bodies, install insulated panels, complete electrical terminations, and support the production team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment safely.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Reliable transportation or ability to travel to Trafford Park.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders accurately.
• Assemble and fit specialist vehicle bodies, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
• Install insulated panels on refrigerated vehicle bodies.
• Complete electrical terminations, including lighting, switches, and tail lifts.
• Seal joints, floors, and roofs using silicone and specialist coatings.
• Cut and prepare metal, timber, and plastic components using workshop machinery.
• Safely use hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across workshop and site locations.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
• Support the wider production team with additional duties as required.
