Job summary

Adaptations Installation Company in the UK is seeking a practical Vehicle Adaptation Installation Engineer to join the team in Cardiff. You will perform hands-on installation of specialist vehicle adaptations, travel to customer locations and dealerships, and interact with customers to explain operation and safety.

The role offers structured training, working Monday to Friday, with 40 hours per week, and opportunities to develop skills in auto electrical, EV systems, welding and fabrication

Responsibilities

• Support stock checks and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Help maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Travel as required and work independently or as part of a team.
• Install and service a range of specialist vehicle adaptation products to required standards.
• Complete quality-control checks to ensure installations meet high standards.
• Carry out mobile installations at customer addresses and dealerships, plus workshop work when needed.
• Demonstrate installed products and explain their safe operation to customers.
• Follow daily and weekly schedules, completing jobs within agreed timescales.
• Complete accurate job reports and follow-up emails.
• Undertake ongoing training as required.

As one of the UK's largest vehicle adaptation installation companies, we provide a wide range of solutions to customers nationwide. We're looking for a practical, customer-focused Vehicle Adaptation Installation Engineer to join our Peterborough team. This is a hands‑on automotive role combining technical installation work, customer interaction and ongoing training. You'll work across customer locations, dealerships and the workshop, ensuring every adaptation is fitted safely and to a high standard. It's an opportunity to develop specialist engineering skills while making a, technical training, including relevant auto electrical, electric vehicle, welding and fabrication skills.

What You’ll Bring

A practical, hands‑on approach and pride in delivering high-quality work. Good automotive or engineering aptitude. Basic understanding of auto electrics, with a willingness to develop your technical skills. Strong communication and customer-service skills. A flexible, conscientious approach and the ability to work to deadlines. Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a team. Basic IT skills for completing job reports and communicating by email. A valid driving licence. A willingness to complete all training required for the role. Previous vehicle adaptation, vehicle technician or automotive engineering experience would be advantageous, but it isn't essential. Experience in auto electrics, electric vehicles, welding or fabrication would also be beneficial.
