Overview

A Top 20 Accountancy Practice are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute VAT Senior Manager to join their dynamic Indirect Tax team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise in VAT and a proven track record of advising clients across a range of sectors. You will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic VAT solutions, managing complex projects, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage VAT advisory projects for a diverse portfolio of clients, including multinational corporations, SMEs, and public sector entities
  • Provide expert guidance on UK and EU VAT legislation, compliance, and planning opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on indirect tax matters
  • Collaborate with internal teams across tax, legal, and finance to deliver integrated solutions
  • Review and sign off technical VAT reports, risk assessments, and client communications
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client pitches
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence
Requirements
  • ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent, with significant post-qualification experience in VAT
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU VAT regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex advisory projects and deliver high‑quality outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
