TPF Recruitment is working with a growing London-based accountancy and business advisory firm to recruit a VAT Manager. You will own a varied portfolio of VAT advisory and compliance work, working closely with the VAT Partner to shape the function and client offering.

You will advise owner-managed businesses to international groups across multiple sectors, delivering practical VAT solutions while developing senior client relationships and guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified in UK VAT or equivalent experience in VAT advisory.
• Experience in a professional services environment preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide high quality VAT and indirect tax advisory services to a varied client portfolio.
• Manage VAT projects from initial scope through to successful completion.
• Deliver practical and commercially focused VAT solutions to client issues.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
• Manage client engagements, onboarding, AML procedures, billing and ongoing communication.
• Lead HMRC enquiries, correspondence and negotiations.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional VAT and tax services.
• Collaborate with colleagues across tax, audit, accounts and bookkeeping teams.
• Provide technical VAT support and training to internal teams.
• Monitor changes in VAT legislation and communicate developments to clients and colleagues.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the VAT Partner, taking ownership of a varied portfolio of VAT advisory and compliance work while helping to grow and develop the firm's VAT offering. You'll work with a diverse client base ranging from owner managed businesses to international groups across multiple sectors.

The Opportunity

As a VAT Manager, you will play a key role in delivering practical, commercially focused VAT advice to clients while supporting the continued growth of the tax department.

You will gain exposure to a broad range of VAT matters, including advisory projects, compliance reviews, HMRC enquiries and international VAT considerations. Key Responsibilities

As VAT Manager, you will:

• Provide high quality VAT and indirect tax advisory services to a varied client portfolio

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• AAT, ATT, ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification, or be qualified by experience
• Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT and indirect taxation
• Previous experience in a VAT focused position within an accountancy practice, professional services firm or similar environment
• Experience managing VAT advisory assignments and client relationships
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The confidence to manage projects independently while recognising when to seek support on complex technical matters
• A proactive and collaborative approach to work
• Experience developing or mentoring junior team members
• Strong commercial awareness and business development skills
