Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced VAT Specialist to join a growing professional services firm as a VAT Director, leading the development of the VAT service line and playing a key role in the firm’s ambitious growth strategy.

This is a strategic leadership role, ideal for someone looking to take on real responsibility for building and developing a VAT team, shaping service delivery, and contributing to the long-term direction of the business. You will work with colleagues across the firm, supporting clients with complex VAT matters and helping to establish and grow the Birmingham office. This opportunity offers significant influence, visibility, and the chance to be part of a supportive, ambitious leadership group.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement a clear VAT strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a dedicated VAT team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Provide expert VAT advisory services across areas such as international VAT, property, charities, and digital tax initiatives.
• Act as a visible subject matter expert through client communications, thought leadership, and industry updates.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, actively supporting business development initiatives.

The successful VAT Director will have
