Job summary

Park Street People Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a global pharmaceutical company for a VAT Accountant. This full-time, 12-month temporary role is 35 hours per week and uses a 50/50 hybrid pattern.

You will oversee multi-country VAT returns and reconciliations, advise on VAT queries, and work across European and international markets. A degree in accounting/finance and SAP or Oracle experience are preferred; CIMA/ACCA helps but not required.

Qualifications

• Degree level in accounting/finance or equivalent.
• Pan-European VAT accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job description

Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, is currently looking for a VAT Accountant to join their team on a full time, 12-month temporary basis (35 hours per week).

You will be overseeing multi country VAT returns, reconciliations, and reporting as well as advising on VAT related queries for markets within the European and international regions.

This role is a 50/50 hybrid role (3 days in week 1, 2 days in week 2) and offers some flexibility for start / finish times around core working hours.

The role does not require a fully qualified accountant (although CIMA / ACCA is of course beneficial). If you have worked as a VAT Analyst (or similar job title) covering multi country indirect tax, this would be an excellent fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare VAT returns and other tax returns ensuring deadlines are met.
• Request VAT submission approvals from internal stakeholders.
• Create VAT and sales general ledger reconciliations.
• Respond to any VAT related queries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.

Requirements

• Pan European VAT accounting experience.
• Educated to degree level in accounting/finance or equivalent discipline.
• Good understanding of SAP or Oracle.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
