Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team located at Colchester Hospital, working in the highly specialised Vascular Access service.

We are looking for an individual with a keen interest in Vascular Access and a passion for patient-centred care.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake Vascular Access procedures in accordance with trust policies and guidelines, ensuring high standards of evidence based care.
  • To communicate with patients and significant others with empathy and reassurance regarding assessment, treatment and care.
  • To supervise clinicians, students, and any other staff, visiting the Vascular Access Service, or learning Vascular Access Procedures.
  • To ensure accurate and comprehensive records are maintained using appropriate written and electronic documentation.
  • To ensure that the staff have knowledge, skills and resources to carry out the care delegated to them.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Competence in venepuncture and cannulation.
  • Training will be provided for the insertion, care and maintenance and removal of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), midlines and ultrasound guided longer dwell cannulas and blood draws.
