Job Overview

We require an outstanding teacher of physics to join our science team and teach Physics on our science courses from January 2026. We can offer you the support to develop your career and the opportunity to teach on a wide range of popular and successful physics courses.

About the Role

As part of the science department, you will deliver lessons in modern, well‑resourced physics laboratories, supported by a specialist physics technician, and work collaboratively with our maths team and other areas of the college.

The majority of our courses are for students aged 16‑19, with additional programmes for adults and apprentices. Course programmes include A Level, Level 3 BTEC National diploma, Access to higher education, HNC and apprenticeships.

Requirements
  • Physics or a related degree qualification together with an appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Applicants without a teaching qualification but with suitable alternative experience in industry or higher education will also be considered.
  • We can support a suitable applicant to gain a teaching qualification while gaining classroom experience.
Benefits
  • Hourly rate of £25.25 (unqualified) / £26.38 (qualified) inclusive of holiday pay.
  • Membership of Teachers' Pension Scheme.
  • Base hourly rate of £16.29 (unqualified) / £17.02 (qualified) plus payment for holiday and preparation and marking time, which gives an approximate hourly rate of £25.25 (unqualified) / £26.38 (qualified).
