A regional college in York is seeking an outstanding teacher of physics to join the science team. The role involves delivering lessons in well-resourced physics laboratories and collaborating closely with other departments. Applicants should have a physics degree and appropriate teaching qualification, with support available for those wishing to gain qualification while gaining experience. We require an outstanding teacher of physics to join our science team and teach Physics on our science courses from January 2026. We can offer you the support to develop your career and the opportunity to teach on a wide range of popular and successful physics courses.
As part of the science department, you will deliver lessons in modern, well‑resourced physics laboratories, supported by a specialist physics technician, and work collaboratively with our maths team and other areas of the college.
The majority of our courses are for students aged 16‑19, with additional programmes for adults and apprentices. Course programmes include A Level, Level 3 BTEC National diploma, Access to higher education, HNC and apprenticeships.
You will be an enthusiastic and student‑centred teacher with a passion for physics.
