Van Technician

Location: Tipton
Salary: up to £45,000 basic per annum, DOE and qualifications, plus overtime
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm & 8:30am to 6:00pm on a rotating pattern, Saturday's as required

We’re recruiting an experienced Van Technician in the Tipton area. You'll diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and vans, covering engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems. You should be confident using diagnostic tools and committed to delivering high quality work. Previous experience with LCVs and a proactive attitude is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used
  • Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Minimum one year's experience working as a Van Technician, Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and software
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence
