Job summary

Qualifications

  • DVSA Nominated Tester certification for Class 4 (Class 5 & 7 highly desirable).
  • Experience with local authority or public sector vehicle maintenance.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, and repair light commercial vehicles (including vans and tippers) and light plant equipment.
  • Conduct safety inspections and routine maintenance in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults to ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including service logs and defect reports.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping in the workshop and comply with health and safety procedures at all times.
About You

Essential:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a vehicle workshop, ideally within a fleet environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills on light commercial vehicles.

Desirable:

  • DVSA Nominated Tester certification for Class 4 (Class 5 & 7 highly desirable but not essential).
  • Welding and fabricating skills (not essential but advantageous).
  • Experience with local authority or public sector vehicle maintenance is a plus.
