Job summary

A leading hire equipment provider in Hurn is looking for a Hire Team member to assist the Hire Manager with day-to-day operations, support customers at the Hire Desk, and manage the delivery and collection of hire equipment. Job description

As a valued member of the Hire Team at our Travis Perkins Christchurch branch, you'll play an important role in supporting our Hire Manager, assisting customers at the Hire Desk, and delivering and collecting hire equipment from customer sites. You'll receive full training on the mechanical and electrical processes involved in repairing, testing, and maintaining tools and equipment to our high Travis Perkins Hire standards.

Responsibilities
  • Receive full training to ensure all tools and hire equipment are tested, safe for use, and available for customers.
  • Support the Hire Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the department.
  • Be computer literate to book in and out Hire equipment.
  • Deliver and collect a wide range of tools and equipment to and from customer locations.
  • Build strong customer relationships, using your developing product knowledge to understand their needs, offer expert guidance, and confidently recommend suitable alternatives.
  • Work safely at all times, following all Hire processes, procedures, audits, and inspection requirements.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience within the Plant and Hire Industry or a good understanding of electrical, petrol and diesel equipment would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Highly adaptable, resilient, and tenacious with high levels of energy and drive.
  • Experience in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
  • Career focused and want to build a career to become a key player in the success of a large PLC.
