Job summary

Polar Speed RH Logistics, a UPS Healthcare Company, is seeking a reliable driver to join the Driving Team at the Stevenage depot. Responsibilities include delivering and collecting high-value medical equipment across the UK, including NHS and private hospitals, with some overnight stays.

The role involves driving a 3.5T panel van, ensuring correct items, securing loads, and maintaining safety standards. You will liaise with sales and office staff, support exhibitions, and help maintain stock

Qualifications

• Minimum B category driver's licence (ideally ≤3 points).
• At least 2 years driving experience.
• Experience handling fragile medical equipment and load securing.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5T panel van for high-value medical equipment.
• Deliver and collect equipment to NHS and private hospitals and events.
• Assist sales at exhibitions and respond to customer requests.
• Ensure on-time deliveries and accurate item counts with serials.
• Report damages or defects immediately.
• Liaise with sales and office staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment per Health & Safety rules.
• Scan deliveries using Driver's App for stock traceability.

Polar Speed, RH Logistics is a UPS Healthcare Company, specialising in logistics solutions such as dedicated transport services, White Glove Services, high tech warehousing, technical services, spare parts management, and demo systems management.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic driver to join our Driving Team, who deliver and collect high value medical equipment around the UK, to and from NHS and Private hospitals also medical conferences, all from our depot in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Job Title : B Licence Driver

Location: Polar Speed UPS, Unit 4, Eastman Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG1 4SZ

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 45 - 55 hours per week, start and finish times vary, total flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business, which may be of an urgent medical nature. Overnight stays as required by planned duties.

Job Purpose:

• Driving a 3.5T Panel Van, fully fitted out to carry fragile medical equipment


• Delivery specialist equipment, locking and loading/strapping of high-end medical equipment, as per white glove delivery service


• Willing to go that extra mile to assist sales members, at exhibitions and customers requests


• Ensuring that time critical deliveries are met


• Checking correct items and quantities are on deliveries and collections, undamaged, preparing and wrapping for delivery and collection. Reporting any issues or defects immediately, with regards to damage and anomalies


• Liaising directly with sales and office staff


• Following a strict cleaning regime


• Health and Safety: maintain a clean safe working environment


• Scanning of items on delivery and collection using Filemaker Drivers App to ensure stock traceability along with stock integrity

Accountability:

• Completion of weekly vehicle checks as per company compliance rules and regulations


• Expert knowledge of road safety and highway code


• Comprehensive driving background with technical experience in fragile transport with knowledge of lock and load rachet system


• Make sure all medical equipment is delivered and collected matching serial numbers and itemised list safely, undamaged and on time

Specialised Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum category B Drivers Licence (ideally no more than 3 points)


• Minimum 2 years driving experience


• Comprehensive driving background with Technical experience in fragile transport with knowledge of lock and load rachet system


• Excellent organisational skills and time management


• Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative


• Ability to work well under pressure, to meet deadlines and changing priorities


• Good knowledge of strapping securing loads for transit


• Must appreciate the need for maintain confidentiality


• Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
