About Us

Here at Suma, we’ve been doing things a bit differently for over 40 years. Not only in our mission to supply everything vegetarian, ethical and sustainable, but also in how we run our successful business.

Suma is a worker co‑operative; a business owned and run by nearly 200 members who work here. We’re a group of ordinary people who have built a business on principles of integrity and equality. Suma workers work together collectively to set the direction of the business - there are no shareholders and no traditional ‘bosses’. Everyone at Suma gets paid the same wage, takes personal and equal responsibility and does a range of different jobs each week.

We are currently looking for a Van Driver to join us on a full‑time basis for a fixed‑term contract of 12 months. There are also opportunities for permanent employment.

We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnicity or gender, but as members of ethnic minority groups and women are currently under‑represented in the co‑op, we particularly encourage applications from women and ethnic minority candidates. Appointment will be based on merit alone.

The Benefits
  • Salary of £17.24 per hour (expenses as extra)
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Staff discount on goods Suma sells
  • Overtime can be taken as pay or time off in lieu
  • Access to occupational sick pay

This is a fantastic opportunity for a conscientious, customer‑focused driver to join our purpose‑led co‑operative and play a key role at the frontline of our service.

You’ll discover a role with plenty of day‑to‑day variety, as well as the chance to build your skills and progress through our first‑class training and development programme.
