Job Title: Valve Technician

Location: Brighouse

Role Type: Permanent

Are you an experienced, fully competent Valve Technician looking for a challenging role that combines technical mastery with team mentorship? We are seeking a self‑motivated, quality‑driven professional to join our workshop team, specializing in the overhaul, testing, and recertification of critical valve and actuator equipment.

The Role

You will be responsible for executing high‑quality work and acting as the first point of contact for technical support and guidance to apprentices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform full overhaul, test, and recertification of various relief valves (conventional, balanced bellows, etc.), isolation valves, control valves, and all actuator types.
  • Demonstrable workshop/technician experience within a valve workshop environment.
  • Experience of working autonomously and experience of leading a team.
  • Provide core competency in troubleshooting, valve flushing, sealant injection, and the use of torque and tensioning equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate project/shutdown work, conduct site surveys, and produce detailed technical reports.
  • Execute detailed risk and hazard assessments (Start Cards), ensure QA job cards are completed to the highest standard, and enforce safe working practices.
  • Flexibility: Participate in the nightshift and weekend rota as required.
What You'll Bring

Qualification: SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in a relevant technical discipline (Engineering Apprenticeship preferred).

  • Demonstrable experience working as a technician in a valve workshop environment.
  • Must be fully competent working alone on all valve and actuator types.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, demonstrate leadership/team‑leading experience, possess excellent communication skills, and maintain a flexible approach to continuous improvement.
Contract & Benefits

Weekly Contract Hours: 39

Overtime: Monday – Friday 1.3 and Saturday and/or Sunday 1.5
