We are now seeking a Value Stream Quality Manager to join our Ansty Park facility; reporting into the Site Quality Lead and managing a team of 10+ colleagues from apprentices through to Senior Quality Engineers. As Quality Manager your role will be to ensure that all manufactured products and processes consistently meet aerospace industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Manager drives the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100), oversees supplier and internal quality audits, and champions continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Manage the quality team in its entirety, with coaching & mentoring for team members. Lead initiatives that improve product & processes throughout the business. Manage, mentor, and develop quality team members within the value stream to build capability and foster a culture of quality ownership.
  • End-to-End Quality Oversight: Manage and ensure quality throughout the entire value stream, including raw materials, in-process production, assembly, and final inspection.
  • Quality Management System (QMS) Compliance: Implement and maintain compliance with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, FAA regulations, and customer-specific requirements within the value stream. Plan, conduct, and support internal and external quality audits, including customer and regulatory audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and supplier quality teams to align quality objectives and resolve quality issues impacting the value stream.
  • Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead and coach root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and lean quality/Zero Defects Programme (ZDP) initiatives to reduce defects, improve process
Who we are looking for
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
  • A relevant engineering or technical degree
  • Working knowledge and experience of Part 21 (UKCAA, EASA, FAA, CAAC). Ability to read and interpret regulations, airworthiness directives and technical specifications.
  • Experience in the effective use of problem resolution processes such as A3 or 8D and Root Cause Analysis tools e.g. 5 why analysis, Cause & Effect, Design of experiments, etc.
  • Proven Experience and demonstrable success in Continuous Improvement best practices, such as Lean, Six Sigma.
  • Desirable experience:
    • AS/EN/JISQ 9100 Lead Auditor Certified
    • Leadership experience in delivering APQP with demonstrable tangible benefits in a manufacturing environment and across the supply chain
    • Comprehensive knowledge of part 21/part 145 and AS9100/AS13100
    • Knowledge & Experience in Safety Management Systems (for application in a part 21 environment)
