Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bromsgrove District and Redditch to assist with the appointment of a Valuation Surveyor, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Valuation Surveyor (Estates) is responsible for providing professional valuation servicesprimarily residentialin support of the Councils strategic objectives and financial requirements. The role involves delivering statutory and non-statutory valuations, supporting landlord and tenant matters for commercial assets, and contributing to the Councils development, investment, and acquisition activities. Working as part of the Regeneration and Property Services team, the postholder ensures services are customer-focused, compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with the Councils operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Property Manager with commercial landlord and tenant matters across the Councils land and property portfolio.
  • Support lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, licences, and general estate management activities.
  • Deliver a customer-focused valuation and estate management service.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related regulations.
  • Uphold responsibilities under the Data Protection Act, safeguarding personal and confidential information. 2 years experience in a similar estates role.
  • Experience of letting, lease and licence negotiations and ongoing management.
  • Knowledge and experience of operational, non-operational and commercial assets estate management.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of local and regional property markets.
  • Knowledge of Property and Landlord and Tenant Legislation.
  • Knowledge of valuation principles and methods, particularly residential right to buy and leasehold extentions.
  • Some Knowledge of residential leasehold legislation
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Planning and Building Regulations.
  • Member of RICS and Registered Valuer
